1. Theory of Machine

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of machines such as Motorized gyroscope, Universal governor, whirling of shaft etc, through hands-on experiments. Students gain practical experience on various types of machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of TOM laboratory is:

 

· To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the varying speed machines.

· To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.

· To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.

· To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery

 

 

2. Metallurgy

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of machines such as Metallurgical microscope, Wheel polishing M/C, Jominy quench test apparatus etc., through hands-on experiments.Students gain practical experience on various types of machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Metallurgy laboratory is:

To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the Metallurgical Microscope, Wheel polishing machines etc.

  • To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery.

 

3. Mechatronics

             This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of devices such as Sensors and Actuators, PLC Trainer with working models, various demonstrative models,through hands-on experiments.Students gain practical experience on various types of PLC operated machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Mechatronics laboratory is:

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the PLC with someDemo. models.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various Sensors and Actuators.

       

 

4. Heat Transfer

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of machines experiments such as Heat transfer through Composite wall, Heat Transfer through Pin-fin apparatus, Heat transfer in natural convection etc. through hands-on experiments.Students gain practical experience on various types of Heat transfer machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of HT laboratory is:

 

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the Heat transfer machines.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery.

 

5. Mechanical Measurement and Metrology

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of machines such as Profile projector, Dial Vernier 6”, Point micrometer, Tool makers microscope etc, through hands-on experiments. Students gain practical experience on various types of Measurement machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of MMM laboratory is:

 

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling various types of measurement machines.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.

 

6.Thermal Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of machines such as Blower test rig, Petrol engine test rig with mechanical dynamometer,Multicylinder petrol engine etc.,through hands-on experiments on real machines. Students gain practical experience on various types of machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Thermal laboratory is:

 

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the various machines.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom treatment with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.

 

7.Computer Aided Design Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on programming and performance of various softwares such as Cre-O,ANSYS.through hands-on experiments, students gain practical experience regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of CAD laboratory is:

 

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of various modeling softwares.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various programs.

 

 

8. Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of advanced machines such as vapor compression ,refrigeration test rig etc machines,through hands-on experiments on various machines.Students gain practical experience regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of RAC laboratory is:

 

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the vapor compression, refrigeration test rig etc machines,.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery

 

9.Automation in Production

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of advanced machines such as CNC Milling Machine ,Six Axis Aristo Robot,through hands-on experiments .Students gain practical experience on CNC machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of AIP laboratory is:

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the CNC machines.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery

 

10.Research Lab/Project Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of all types of innovative and fabricated machines and models which has been already fabricated by students, students gain practical experience and idea regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Research/Project laboratory is:

  • To provide the student, knowledge of industrial machining, manufacturing and fabrication of various machineries and its allied components.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate testing techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery

 

11. Stress Analysis Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance on 12 inch Polariscope machines, through hands-on experiments. Students gain practical knowledge of stress analysis regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Stress analysis laboratory is:

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling Polariscope machine.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery

 

12.Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

This laboratory is run in conjunction with theory course. In fluid mechanics laboratory flow behavior, fluid forces are introduced. This laboratory is equipped with different flow measuring set-up like venturimeter, orifice meter, pitot tube etc. From these experiments students can learn the basic theory of working of flow meter. Similarly, students can understand the basic principles of fluid mechanics such as density, viscosity, coefficient of discharge of various flow meters, frictional losses through pipes, bends, sudden expansion and contraction, stability of floating bodies, etc.

The intent of Fluid Mechanics Laboratory is

· To find coefficient of friction, coefficient of impact, coefficient of discharge.

· To study the characteristics of different types of pumps.

· Students can strengthen their theoretical knowledge.

 

13.Strength of Material Laboratory

Strength of material laboratory provides facility to perform various tests on materials for its strength, behavior and suitability for various applications. The basic principles are demonstrated in the area of strength and mechanics of materials to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments is the objective of the strength of materials lab. Different types of tests are being conducted in this laboratory to know the various mechanical properties of a material such as young’s modulus, shear modulus, hardness, toughness, deflection, fatigue strength etc. Students are also utilizing this lab for the preparation of specimen to be tested.

The intent of Strength of Materials Laboratory is

· Students can able to understand how to determine the hardnessofthegivenspecimen by various testing.

· Students can able to find out Strainenergy ofgivenspecimenby impacttest.

 

14.Machine Laboratory

This laboratory is to impart knowledge on working and performance of advanced machines such as Lathe Machine, Milling Machine, Radial Drill Machine etc,through hands-on experiments on various machines. Students gain practical knowledge on various machines regarding their performance and can compare with theoretical concepts. The intent of Machine laboratory is:

  • To provide the student with practical knowledge of handling the Lathe and other machines.
  • To correlate the theoretical classroom teaching with actual machine characteristics.
  • To demonstrate working techniques of various machines.
  • To encourage the students on trouble shooting the machinery
